Hadrain's Wall Walk 2018

Day One:

We started our walk at the museum at Wall's End and you actually walk though the museum to start. It was a beautiful day so walking though the outskirts of Newcastle along the river was nice. We stopped for lunch in town at a cafe by the river and the amazing pedestrian bridge that opened while we ate.

This the first section of actual Roman Wall you see! Most of the wall is long gone in the beginning as it was taken down to build with long ago. Construction started in 122AD

The first day was a 22km distance so rest stops were important along with finding a comfortable spot for one. We walked past miles of wheat fields that were being harvested by huge machines.

The view out of our first B&B's window early in the morning as we had to get up to eat a hearty English Full breakfast before starting again.
